Facilitating Organisational Change
Organisational
change is often seen as simply a matter of changing or developing
a set of systems and procedures. This may involve the introduction
of new technology, more sophisticated business systems, a
restructure etc. Internal consultants assist in this process
by using a range of specialist skills.
However such initiatives often
flounder unless consultants and managers take account of the
human dimension of the problem.
Significant elements of organisational problems lie not only
in their technical content but also in how they are managed.
Critical factors here include:
|
|
|
- How feelings are dealt with
|
|
|
|
|
- Do people get listened to?
|
|
- How powerful or powerless people
feel
|
During the programme you will develop
the skills necessary to make interventions into the human
process dimension of your organisation. We do this by treating
the group as your client system.
All of the above issues which
are present in any organisation will be present in the group.
As these issues emerge, they furnish you with the opportunity
to practice your intervention skills to help the group deal
with them.
